That’s the thing about Sasquatch, more than any other cryptid, they’re constantly getting into trouble.
CNN, yes THE CNN, is reporting that a man ran into a young couples’ camp ground after having fired a shot in the dark. Here’s the best we could make sense of the whole story.
Late Wednesday night a young couple, Madelyn Durand and her boyfriend Brad Ginn, were sleeping in their back forest camp ground in Mammoth Cave National Park. Around 11:00 PM they heard gunshots in the nearby forest followed by a man running into their campsite appearing very agitated.
The man, who they’ve never met before, explained that a Bigfoot had just ransacked his campground and then ran directly for him. It was at this point he began running, firing his weapon into the woods. The gunshot was so close to Madelyn’s campground that they were able to see the flash from the muzzle. He proceeded to show them his gun, with trembling hands, warn them about being armed and then ran back off into the night. Scaring the hell out of the young campers in the process.
Madelyn and Brad did the right thing and reported the incident to the national park rangers right away.
Park Rangers did confirm that they responded to the incident in the very early hours of Thursday morning. They’ve confirmed that they know of the man in question and that it is an ongoing investigation. At the moment, no arrests have been made and no further information has been provided.
It’s always interesting when mainstream media pick up on stories like this. Unfortunately this one seems to be more about people shooting off guns in a dangerous way than our beloved Bigfoot.
On one hand, it’s nice to see coverage like this but on the other, I really wish two younger people hadn’t been in a pretty dangerous situation with a panicked gun user.
Stay safe out there campers!
