The Hobo Hill House has been listed on Airbnb following an interestingly timed appearance on solid entertainment television, ‘The Dead Files.’
Now Creepers, I know what you’re thinking: Buy house, renovate, keep the creepy ass basement, get a “haunting”, get a featured appearance on a “paranormal” show (there’s a lot of quoting going on right now), list on Airbnb and profit… To you cynical bastards I say: “c’mon friend let’s cut some peeps a break eh?”
But you’re probably right.
If we were better people though, here’s what we’d want to tell you. The Hobo Hill House was purchased by Missouri couple Aaron and Erin Clark (Wow, really?) just a couple of years ago. They had high hopes that the property in Jefferson City would be their beautiful dream home but things started to go wrong as they so often do.
At first they started to notice that appliances, lights and even the sink would turn on and off for no apparent reason at all hours of the day. The couple dismissed the issues but when events turned to their daughter, they started to take things more seriously.
Their 8-year-old daughter started to experience terribly nightmares and even began to sleepwalk on a regular basis. They say one night stood out from the rest when the little girl was heard crying in her room, Erin quickly came to her aid when her daughter instantly stopped crying and looked at her with a wide smile and went back to sleep.
Apparently that did it for them.
The Clarks did what most horror movie families never do, they got the hell out of there after living in the house for only 7 months. After they left they were faced with a moral dilemma. If they sold the Hobo Hill House they risked another family experiencing a terrible haunting so they did the only reasonable thing a family would do when you don’t want people to harmed by your haunted house, they promoted the hell out of it and put it up for short term rentals on Airbnb at $365 per night.
Solid move there.
I have to be straight with you Creepers, I feel a little dirty promoting this thing but I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t at least provide a link so HERE’s the listing if you want to check it out.
They definitely go out of their way to say this is a paranormal house, even showing creepy pictures of the basement, and the Clarks have reported that the first people who rented the property weren’t able to stay the night due to spooky events.
I feel some synergistic opportunities with Ghost Hunters coming on.
